Finn Granfield

Finn Granfield is a New York City–based actor, singer, and dancer originally from Massachusetts. A graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy’s Musical Theatre program, Finn’s work spans theatre, film, new-play development, and cabaret performances.

Most recently, Finn played Alex in Aquila Simmons’ Escape Velocity, a new play developed through the MIT Playwrights Lab and directed by Jack Serio. His screen experience includes work on the Netflix feature The Mothership, directed by Matt Charman. His voice has been heard performing at some of New York City's most iconic venues including The Green Room 42, Don’t Tell Mama, and 54 Below (upcoming) - as well as in the Emojiland the Musical "Stand For" music video featuring Natalie Weiss.

Finn’s theatrical background ranges from contemporary plays to classic and contemporary musical theatre and plays, with roles including Josh in Moonlight Room, Bobby in A Chorus Line, Prince Topher in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Jedadiah Schultz/Dennis Shepard in The Laramie Project, and Wolf/Cinderella’s Prince in Into the Woods. Finn currently trains at Matt Farnsworth Vocal Studios under Jesse Kissel.

At the center of Finn’s work is a belief in truthful storytelling. Rather than approaching performance with the goal of creating a particular reaction, he strives to fully inhabit the circumstances of a story and trust that honesty to connect with an audience. He is especially drawn to work that is intimate, character-driven, and unafraid to explore the complexities of human behavior.
